Andrew Sloman, Inspiring Artist.

The creative quality behind Andrew Sloman, has inspried me to write again. If you have not heard of Andrew, please click and read my post "Another Singer Song Writer has found me". Then return and read this lovely little post.

With his first official release under his belt, Andrew Sloman is still paving his way into our hearts and ears. This artist has the ability to write music in a creative, refreshing way. He has managed to keep me coming back for more.
His first official EP was released October 30th to Itunes and Amazon. This includes five very lovely tracks everyone should hear. If you have not purchased your copy of Andrew Sloman's Tides EP, please do yourself a favor and go do it now.

Since the release of his EP, Andrew has posted two new (new to me) tracks on his music page. ( www.myspace.com/andrewsloman ) When I listened to them, I fell in love with his music all over again.

Andrew Sloman has writen a heart warming song that has touched me deeply, so much so that I had to share. "Humble" is a prime example of true art. The piano in this tune is simple, yet contains so much beauty. You can truly feel every note of this beautiful song. Andrew Sloman has so wonderfully penned lyrics in "Humble." This tune speaks of love, knowing what it is, once having had it, gave it up for no good reason, and now you are left searching your way back to it again. Such a wonderful tune that moved me, touching my heart forever.

Andrew's most recent song that he posted to his music page is "Human Nature." This is an upbeat, feel good song. In this song, Andrew provides us with his outstanding guitar picking and plucking, backed with a light drum beat, and hand clapping. This tune speaks of enjoying the daily beauties of life. The simple things, how they matter in life. Andrew's voice in this tune is both soothing, and full of hope. This song brings me hope. I really enjoy this song. Go listen to "Human Nature" and you will love it too!

You can purchase your own copy of Andrew Sloman's "Tides" EP from Itunes or Amazon. This is one purchase that you will not regret! Also, Andrew is going to be releasing an album in the near future, so keep and eye out for that. In the mean time go to his music page www.myspace.com/andrewsloman and Give His tunes a listen!

Pop-Rock Music Full of Passion, Rite On slips into my likings.

Rite On is an Oklahoma City based Pop-Rock band. "A band that started as a project" and went through many twists and turns as far as members go. After many years, and several trial runs with a few different band members, it seems that Rite On has finally found their family. Rite On is definitely a band to listen to, and watch for.
Made up of just three members, these guys have a vision for great music. Jared Owens leads the band on vocals and guitar. Aaron Vega rocks the bass, and Kyle Klingman puts down some pretty slick stickin' on drums. I stumbled upon this little group by accident, but I left as a fan. The first time I ever heard these guys play, was live, at Bora Bora night club and venue here in Oklahoma City. I was very impressed with this group, and what they have to offer to us as listeners. Rite On makes for a wonderful example of Pop-Rock music.
I am a sucker for the guitar and Rite On provides some nice plucking for my listening pleasure in all of their tunes. I personally love their song "Mojo" the most. Just before playing this song in their set at Bora Bore, it was mentioned that this song was inspired by a dog. This got my attention and I really listened in. Once I heard the lyrics, I realized that the dog comment must have been a joke, but an amusing one.

While this band provides some really great music, they are also very entertaining. The drummer, Kyle, makes for a quick-witted comedian in between songs. He definitely kept my attention in between songs, which then kept me listening. I really enjoy a band that can provide us with a little bit of humor, and Rite On definitely has that in Kyle.
I took the opportunity to approach Kyle and Aaron, to let them know that I really enjoyed their set. I also mentioned that this was the first time I had ever heard of them. Both guys were extremely kind, and appreciative of my kind words. Kyle let me know how I could find them on myspace.
I really appreciated this band for their music, kindness, and entertainment value. If you are a fan of pop-rock, you should definitely go and give these guys a listen. I personally recommend listening to "Mojo" and "Something" first, then listen to the other two tracks available since you are already there.

Rite On is working on recording an album. They do have a four song EP available they are selling at their live shows. Should you want to own a little piece of Rite On, just hit up their myspace page, and check their show dates.

Music full of heart, soul, and meaning, we Find Lee Lindsey

Based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, comes a lyrical genious I have stumbled upon through the amazing social site, myspace. Music that tells a real, honest, life story, no matter the genre, is some of the best music in the industry. Lee Lindsey has done this, with her folk rock album, "Above The Madding Crowd." There is a true essence of beauty in her story. Bravely, Lee Lindsey tells us her personal story with her lyrics, in a way that listeners can identify with on many levels. Wether it's the story of a broken heart, an unhealthy relationship with a father, or a life's journey, there is something on this album that can connect you with the heart of this artist, Lee Lindsey.

Lee holds an amazing creative quality in her writing that connects modern country music with the true essence behind her folk roots. She posseses an incredible talent to pen lyrics that tell beautiful stories. She writes lyrics in a way, that the listener can connect with her, and the music on a personal level. Thus, leaving you feeling more appreciative of not only the artist behind this music, but music in general. The honesty behind Lee Lindsey's music is both refreshing and theraputic.

Allow me, please, to provide just two examples of Lee Lindsey's work from her album "Above The Madding Crowd."

Lee's first track, "Journey" is THE song that grabbed my attention. There is a raw and honest quality to this song that touches my heart like no other. This song, delivers the message that you have to follow your heart and dreams. It won't be easy, but you have to push through. There is happiness in following your heart, but with doing this comes obstacles, you must face them. Overcome them. This is a delightful tune that I can not listen to enough.

"Just a Girl" is the other song I feel the need discuss. While basking in the graceful chords weaving together by the string instruments, her lyrics ring true to be just as beautiful, and seep into your soul. This is a song that ALL women should listen to, and have on their playlist. Lee sings of the weaknesses, of being a woman, in a wide spectrum of life. I truly feel every note and chord of this song in a very personal way. I relate to this song in such a strong way. I am sure many women could, if you just take the time to listen. "Just A Girl," is truly a beautiful, heartfelt song.

The songs from "Above the Madding Crowd" listed above are available for a listen on Lee Lindsey's music page. Just go to www.myspace.com/leelindsey and hear them out. Once you become a fan, you can purchase Lee Lindsey's album at CDBABY. To do so, You can copy and paste this link here. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/leelindsey2/from/musicdish

Page 9

Another rock band has made their way into my musical findings. Page 9 is based out of Dallas, Texas. This duo rock group is made up of Lindan Scott (bass) and Josh Roa-Martinez (vocals/guitar.) Just two guys that work well and sound good together. : )

I have to say I am a sucker for rock music. It holds some of the best qualities in music, if you have a good ear for it. You have to be careful not to drown out your vocals. So many rock bands loose out on being heard and appreciated by doing just that. Page 9 has done a wonderful job mixing and producing some very listen worthy tunes.

I personally like "You Don't Know Me." The opening guitar licks in this song won me over to give them a full listen. I love the sound of the guitar. This song holds some amazing chords that I can get lost in. The lyrics are very well written and the phrasing works well with the track. This song speaks of what two people could be together if just given the chance. I know I have been there before in life, as I am sure many people have. Page 9 are just brave enough to put it out in the open for all to appreciate. Masterfully done in my opinion.

"Where You Are" This song, again, is full of masterful guitar and some sick drum sticking. The lyrics speak of giving understanding to a friend. Empathising with them, for whatever it is they are going through in life. This song is available for a listen as well on their music page. Just go to www.myspace.com/page9 Click and enjoy. : )

Page 9 is currently recording a new EP. Keep an eye out for that release. They also have a demo up on I-tunes, "ZombieCar" Go check it out and buy! There is also a youtube video of an acoustic cut of this song up on their myspace page. I really like it. Go check it out! : )
